Biography
Born and raised in PA, Carolyn was an FBI government employee before deciding to become a nurse at Arlington's Marymount University. Her love and interest in children while employed at Children's Hospital National Medical Center in Washington, DC ultimately led her to expanding her career by specializing as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
Carolyn became certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in 1993 after receiving her Master in Nursing degree from Emory University, Atlanta, GA. From 1993 to 2003 she practiced in VA with several area pediatric group practices, gaining experience and knowledge in all areas of generalized pediatric care, working with diverse multi-cultural populations. She joined ALL Pediatrics in 2003, working primarily at the Lakeridge office. She has been a mentor and teacher for nurse practitioner and physician assistant students over the past 10 years.
Carolyn finds the joy of having a career working and caring for children to be priceless. She states “Being able to help children heal and assist their parents and caretakers in their growth and development issues and in the healing process is very rewarding and satisfying”. She finds that working with children is "good for the soul.”
Carolyn lives in Arlington with her husband Frank Barone and their rescue dog, Molly. Besides reading and gardening, Carolyn enjoys creating and sewing customized Angel Dolls for that Special Angel in Your Life.
